RLBUH HOSPITAL WARD 4Y PALLIATIVE CARE UNIT
The brief was to completely change the
existing clinical ward into a treatment
and recovery area for cancer patients.
It was made very clear to us that the
finished project was intended to put
patients and relatives at ease during
their treatment and aftercare and to this
end we worked very closely with our
designer to ensure the normal quite
harsh environment of a clinical ward was
softened which included the use of
pastel colours and soft furnishings
throughout.
The works consisted:
Removal of existing suspended
ceilings and installation of new
feature ceilings throughout.
Removal of existing flooring
and installation of new
throughout.
Removal of existing lighting, power
and data and replace with new
including feature lighting to the
new welcome area.
Formation of new welcome area
incorporating custom built reception
counter and seating area for new
arrivals.
Formation of new relative’s area
incorporating new soft furnishings
and refreshment area.
